Beginners

We welcome beginners at any stage of the season and will teach them at club sessions or by individual arrangement

For the 2007 season we have concentrated training on a four-week course on Monday evenings. This started on 11 June, and was duplicated in July.

The course is designed for people who have not played croquet before, or have played only a limited amount of croquet or garden croquet. On completion, participants are able to join in a sociable game of Golf Croquet without further instruction or supervision

The course consists of four two-hour sessions over four weeks. The first hour of each session consists of instruction, demonstration and exercises followed by a tea break and then a supervised practice game with one supervisor for each four players:

  • Session 1: Introductions, choice and use of mallet, layout of hoops on lawn
  • Session 2: Detailed work on hoop running: the practice session is a special fun game
  • Session 3: More detailed understanding of rules
  • Session 4: Tactics and handicap play

If you wish to take part in a future course or simply find out more proceed as under Enquiries
